Marquee is a conference for people who make things and then have to explain them. No tracks, no breakout rooms, no choosing between two talks you wanted to see. Everyone in one theatre, for two days.
Early-bird tickets are on sale until 31 January. Last year sold out in nine days.
Most conferences ask you to choose. Six rooms, four tracks, and the talk everyone is quoting afterwards is the one you missed. Marquee runs one stage, from the first coffee to the last question, so that for two days everyone in the building has seen exactly the same thing. The hallway conversation gets much better when it has something to be about.
One stage, one running order. You will not miss anything, because there is nothing to miss.
Every talk is the same length. Long enough for an argument, short enough to keep it honest.
Every talk goes online, free, within a month. The ticket buys you the room, not the video.

Both days, all eighteen talks, lunch and coffee on site, the printed programme, and the after-party at the Fillmore.
Everything in Early bird, at the price it costs us to put nine hundred people in a theatre for two days.
Everything above, plus the Thursday workshops: half a day each on type design, editorial systems, or photographing your own work.
Student and unwaged tickets are $95, and there are forty of them. Write to us and tell us who you are — we don't ask for proof.

If yours isn't here, write to us. A person reads that inbox and usually answers the same day.
[email protected]No. We tried it in 2025 and it made the room worse — speakers played to the camera instead of the seats. Every talk is recorded and published free within a month, and the recordings are genuinely good. The live thing is for the people who came.
Yes, to anyone, any time up to the morning of day one. Send us the new name. There's no fee and we won't ask why.
Full refund until 1 April, no questions. After that we'll refund if we can resell the seat, which we usually can. If something has gone wrong in your life, ask us anyway.
Step-free from the street to the stalls, the bar and the accessible toilets. Twelve wheelchair spaces with companion seating, a hearing loop across the whole stalls, and live captioning on the main screen for every talk. The balcony is stairs only.
Lunch both days is included and served in the circle bar — hot, sat down, not a sandwich in a box. Tell us about allergies and diets at checkout and we will actually cater for them.
Probably not, and that is the normal case. There's a first-timers' coffee at 08:45 on day one in the upstairs bar, hosted by people whose job that morning is to introduce you to somebody.
