A speaker waiting in the wings, lit only by the stage spill, watching the previous talk from behind the curtain

Everyone youwill hear,in order.

We invite about half the programme and take the rest from open proposals. Nobody buys a slot, sponsors do not get to speak, and every talk is thirty minutes because the good ones do not need forty.

Twelve of the eighteen are announced. The rest land in February.

Propose a talk

You do not need a track record, a following, or a title. You need one thing you have actually done and an argument about it. Proposals are read blind — we strip the names before the committee sees them.

What to send

A title, two hundred words, and one sentence on why you are the person to say it.

What you get

Travel, two nights at the Ashbury, a fee of $1,200, and four rehearsal sessions with a coach if you want them.

When you hear

Everyone gets an answer by 20 January, including the four hundred we cannot fit.
