Twelve Mats opened in 2019 in an empty room above a print shop: tall windows, a wooden floor, and space for exactly twelve mats with room to stretch.
A few of the earliest regulars painted the wall that first spring. We kept every class at twelve so the teacher can see everyone, and nobody has to squeeze in.

Mara Kessler
Owner. Teaches yoga. Teaching since 2012.
Started at the back of a church-hall class in Dayton in 2009. “I’m still a back-row person. I take Sami’s Pilates there every Wednesday.”
Sami Haddad
Teaches mat Pilates. Here since 2021.
Came to Mara’s Thursday class in 2019 and trained as a mat Pilates teacher the year after. He still takes that Thursday class, from the same spot.

A private hour for one or two people is $85. Studio hire is from $45 an hour, for your own group. Tell us what you have in mind and Mara writes back within two days.
