What is not covered

Listed plainly, because finding out at the point of claim is worse than reading it now.

  • Physical damage

Drops, crushing and liquid. The intake grille is an opening by design, so anything poured, sprayed or steamed into it counts as ingress rather than a defect.

  • Contamination beyond domestic use

Cooking grease, cigarette tar and building dust clog the particle sensor's optics. We will clean it once, free, in the first year. After that it is a paid service at £35.

  • Drift within the stated tolerance

Under two per cent a year is expected behaviour for this class of sensor, not a fault. Beyond it, it is covered — send us a comparison reading.

  • Units from unlisted sellers

Grey imports and second-hand marketplace units. Not because we are precious about channels — we cannot verify what has happened to a sensor we never shipped.

  • Devices that have been opened

There are four screws and no security seal, so opening it is your right. But the carbon dioxide sensor holds a sealed pressure reference that opening the case disturbs, and we cannot recalibrate that remotely.

How to make a claim

There is no form and no ticket portal. Four steps, and the first two are things you can do before you contact anyone.

  1. 01
Find the serial and the firmware version

The serial is moulded into the base below the wall-mount keyhole and begins NB1‑. The firmware version is in the app under Settings → About.

  2. 02
Email support with both, and where you bought it

Describe what the device is doing rather than what you think is wrong with it. A photograph of the display is worth several paragraphs.

  3. 03
We reply within one working day

Usually with one thing to try first. Roughly a third of claims turn out to be a calibration or network problem and are resolved without anything being posted.

  4. 04
If it has to come back, we pay the postage

A prepaid label by email. Repairs take five to eight working days on the bench plus shipping each way. If we cannot repair it within thirty days of receiving it, you get a replacement.

Your rights in law

This warranty is something we give you on top of the law. It cannot take anything away from what the law already gives you, and nothing above should be read as trying to.

  • United Kingdom

Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 sit with the retailer who sold you the device, and last up to six years in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, five in Scotland. Nothing here limits them.

  • European Union

The two-year legal guarantee of conformity under Directive (EU) 2019/771 applies regardless of this warranty, and in some member states runs longer. Where the two overlap, use whichever is better for you.

  • Australia

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

  • Everywhere else

Local consumer law applies and takes precedence. Where a retailer in the directory handles service for your country, claim through them first — it is faster and the rights are usually stronger.
